IOS 14, as expected, brings tons of additional features with this year’s release. Now you can view your apps in-app library instead of the grid that we all are used to. Widgets are now meaningful and look more beautiful, Apple has added android like functionality that allows you to put widgets on your home screen. With picture in picture, now you can watch videos over other apps. In messages app now you have replies feature to help you keep track of group conversations. A new translation app allows you to translate in real-time, so you can have a conversation with anyone. You don’t need car keys anymore, with IOS 14 and 13 you can use car keys feature that unlocks your car with your iPhone. There are other tons of UI changes that make your UI more beautiful and easy to use.

iPad has already replaced our laptops to some extent, but with iPad OS 14, Apple has taken it to another level. Not actually. There is not much new here, now they have included spotlight search like functionality called search, it looks exactly like spotlight search on Mac. All the other features of IOS 14 is now available on IPad OS 14. One new thing that came is with apple pencil, now you can scribble to type text and select handwritten text easily.
Airpods pro brings spatial audio with the new update, this allows you to have a more immersive audio experience that seems more realistic. Airpods can now even switch between devices, so let’s say you were in a call with John, now you switch over to your mac to watch a movie, your AirPods will automatically switch, saving you from all the hassle to reconnect.

The biggest announcement in the event was the launch of Apple Silicon, Apple’s own processor. As we all know that iPhones and iPad work on Apple’s own processors, this allows them to be faster and work more efficiently. Similarly, Apple’s own processor would allow Mac to run faster and more efficiently. This would allow Mac to be a more significant part of the ecosystem.
This conference was a fresh beginning for MacBooks, with new Apple Silicon and Mac OS Big Sur, Macs will be much faster, smoother, and powerful than ever before. This would make the Apple ecosystem much stronger and very harsh for the competition.
If I missed out on something, let me know in the comments.
